Not Nature...II
I was in Wa DC last week. Took my camera gear for evening shooting after work...hoping to capture some jewel-box gardens for posting on Flora Gallery. But, this harvest moon was my lucky find. Not at all nature...except for the moon. The red glow...dust and haze...it really was red. Tripod with Zeiss 100mm and Nikon D300.

Glad to be back home...away from the pulse...the glitz...the crowds...the politcal buzz.

cool shot, i would have liked to see the white house seperated from 'that long tall building' a little more.

I used to live in Washington, DC, and I've seen thousands of photos of the monuments. The color is spectacular. The blue of the sky is in perfect contrast with the color of the moon, and make warmth of the capitol and the Washington monument stand out. I wish the bus wasn't in the photo, and that there was a little more space separating the capitol building and Washington monument. Very, very nice.

Richard, thanks for the comments. I hoped for a different perspective...Unfortunately, access and views were limited due to special events and security that night. But, again...I was happy with the results...just like everything in photography...you try to make the best of it. Ken S

Hey Ken, this is sweet. I agree with the other comments, but I really like the overall feel and that great harvest moon over our nation's capital. Well done.

Cool shot Ken. I like that the lights at the top of the monument match the moon almost exactly. Nice reflection too.
