Muckle black craw
D70 Nikon 80-400 @ 400mm ISO 400 1/250 f5.6 tripod & hide

Last contribution from Sunday's garden bird shoot that I will inflict upon the forum. We have a fairly large rookery in the village and can expect up to 20 of them (and a similar number of jackdaws) to attack the bird feeders each morning. This chap was waddling about on the lawn, looking suspiciously at my hide. Cropped to about 60% of original.

Reminds me of Rod Hull's Emu that expression, where's Parkie? Love it, to me the best of your garden shoot so far.

Very nice Malcolm. Kept the blacks superbly and nicely composed. BG really aids this shot.

Background is nice, framing works well but perhaps another touch of sharpening around the head.

Fine image, agree with John on the sharpening.

Hi Malcom
Nice portrait with good feather detail and a clean BG.

Thanks for all the comments - John was quite right about the sharpening. I have adjusted the copy in my portfolio and it is much improved.
