Venus sets over Castle Peak and Cathedral Peak last week.

And then the waning full moon illuminates Castle Peak in this six-minute exposure. I got rid of the very few star streaks that were present. The long exposure made the sky brighter than I expected this long after sunset.

Finally, the next morning I caught a glimpse of Capitol Peak in the distance.

Nice ones Todd ! I love the simplicity of the first one. Isn't it weird how a shot like two can come out as bright as it does? Not trying to hijack your thread but here's a similar situation I took here: http://ic2.pbase.com/o2/15/421415/1/128004844.gd5pt94S.68556534_qJhMhDeL_Longsafterdark.jpg It was taken at 7:45 pm in October so it was fully dark. I always thought it looked more like sunrise rather than when it was taken.

Nice shots! I really like the Castle Peak moonlight one - but I had no idea it was moonlight until you said so. Maybe put those stars back in, and shift the white balance much bluer and darker to make it look more like moonlight? But it's cool as a day shot as well.

Great mood in the first one, that's crazy that #2 is from moonlight 'cause it looks like late afternoon. The third is one excellent extraction tele-comp. Just more wonderful stuff, TC!

You have a great bold compositional style, thanks for sharing.

All nice stuff, Todd, but that 1st one really works for me. Just gorgeous!

I want #1 in my bedroom so I can fall asleep dreaming of the mountains. Beautiful shot!

Awesome stuff again Todd...especially the first one...I love how the light fades into darkness.

Excellent line-up on Venus. And I would like to see the moonlit shot darker as well just to compare them. What ISO did you use?

I love #3 here, nice color mix.
