We have had a pair of roadrunners in our local cemetery since May, and they successfully hatched a pair of chicks that have grown and migrated on. Two days ago, I located a second nest, with a newly hatched chick moving within. This is one of the parents coming back with a mid-afternoon snack. I wish I had a lower angle, and that the bird hadn't been standing in the shade, but to me it is still a good documentary photo.

I think this is a fine, dynamic shot, great pose, and showing the bird with prey. I think I would use curves to boost the brightness and contrast a little, and crop out the stuff at the top edge to make the background a little more uniform.

Great shot, Rob! I wouldn't change a thing except to crop the very top.

I concur ---Great shot. You have worked the heck out of that cemetery this summer..... Those birds were a good find.

No apologies needed on this one. Light was more than sufficient to bring out detail and color. Love the pose. I half expect to see the RR move. Great action shot.
