Hi All. Over the past few months I have asked a lot of questions about computers and monitors. Well, I decided to give my impressions of my new Samsung 940T 19" LCD monitor. This may help others make a choice.
First, I decided on a 19" as I seem to have been able to get a better price point/feature compared to the larger units. I chose this unit due to the reputation of Samsung and the 1000:1 contrast ratio. No, it doesn't support full Adobe RGB, but it only cost me $320 at NewEgg.
My impression is that it is a great moinitor. The colors calibrated well with a Spyder (once I got the procedure down). I find the sharpness is great and the colors well saturated.
The Magic Rotation is a nice feature to work with vertical images. I find I do not use the Samsun color software as the Spyder calibration is much better.
So, if any of you are in the market for a new LCD, I suggest you give a serious look at this monitor.
Kevin, if you are referring to the process of calibrating the monitor I found that I needed to be extra careful in eliminating any ambient light from the room getting tot he Spyder. By working in near, but not quite, dark I got the best results. I believe this eliminated any stray light from interfering witht he results.

What was your process? I have a Viewsonic I just purchased and wondered if the process might be the same. I too use Spyder Pro2. Thanks,
Kevin
