Kingfisher
Me put the ivy on the stump !!!
Course I did.
This wasn't done there but I am starting to get one on my garden ponds again.(We are only 200yards from a nest site in the brook nearby)
I rather like my goldfish though and the Kingfishers took a large proportion of the Palmate newts too, so they will maybe have to be discouraged D200

There was a lot of concern about the effects the harsh winter would have on the KF population. From the amount of these on the forums it looks like they’ve coped quite well and are having a pretty good breeding season. I said in an earlier post that I prefer the colours in the females and this young female just shows of those deep blues perfectly. The ivy on the perch is a nice touch.

very nice John I like the ivy touch on the perch, just one thing not sure on is the white collar, it looks a bit blue but that could just be how the light is or my eyes

Thanks people
Calum- the good thing is they can pick up quite quickly with two broods and breeding early and late.
Karen - there probably is a bit - you know what my eyes are like !

nice shot john but gotta agree with karen the whites do look blue, better than being blown though

I reckon the ivy adds to the image, whites easily fixed.
This is a great shot John.
Well done.
Geoff.

I've adjusted it but there's no point in using up forum space with a re post.

Hi John
Beautiful - great BG, perch, pose and nice soft light. Very very minor nit a little big in the frame for me.

Lovel shot John and the ivy is a nice touch. Concerned about these over the winter too, but there seem to be the usual numbers on the Kennet and Loddon this year

Excellent Hedera helix and the KF is not bad as well.
