Less Is More - Kingfisher
I have spent the last few days again on the river Trent photographing these beautiful birds. Here this female landed right on the end of this perch allowing me to compose her so.The background is a dark treeline/old brick bridge which forms this natural BG.The sun was really out today and it felt like the summer was back, here the light has brought out the wonderful colours where I have tired not to over-saturate this already colourful bird.I am hoping to try so wide-angle /diving images soon, capturing their behaviour and habitat within the images.

The iridescent blue against the dark BG is outstanding. A superb image IMO, Craig, because I love black backgrounds,  :wavey:

Can't make my mind up if there ought to be a bit less space at the top, but that is a very minor nit.

I like the black BG Craig and the comp - good work. I know you've been after KF's for a long time :wavey: :wavey:

I love this Craig like the comp very much and i like the plain perch, I am liking the less perch the better approach now so it takes nothing from the beauty of the bird

Great stuff Craig. I think a shave off the top would strengthen.

There's certainly no mistaking what the main focal point is here with that totally un-distracting background. Good to see you got your bird in the end
