Hi Geoff,

I love these little birds but sadly they do not live around my way so I have to travel to Scotland once a year to photograph them

Fabulous clean background great stuff :toast: :toast:

Great shot Geoff. :toast: Do you have a picture of your setup because I am trying to set one up at the moment - the only problem is that I live in London!

Whats not to like about it Geoff

Lovely shot and I am not put off by the square crop either

I am not a fan of square crops - I think they rarely work unless the subject is looking towards the camera. However, a little canvas could easily be added to this shot.

Very nice Geoff. The overall colours subject and background really complement each other.

Was this image taken recently? I don't tend to see them at this time of year where I live.

Cheers

Austin

Thanks Austin.
This was taken March 2009 although I did see a male and female here on my feeding station about a month or so ago but they were only here for a few days.
There were a lot of them here around the time this shot was taken but it took a lot of patience to get shots of them on the perches instead of the niger seed feeder.
Hopefully they'll be back this Winter again.

A very nice portrait and you've even got the perch complimenting the bird's plumage colour too. :toast:
