I am planning a trip to Glacier during the Summer or early Fall, 2011.
I would like to find another photographer who would like
to hike with me to Triple Falls. Anyone interested???

Please contact me at:

bwolff@parkland.edu

Hope to hear from someone who is interested:

Bernie, I'd be interested. Glacier is on my to-do list next year.

Is this taken from the inside of the Triple Falls Gorge?

How long of a hike is this?

Bernie, I could be interested as well. My schedule for next year is pretty open right now, and I would like to make it over to Glacier. Keep me in the loop on your plans!

Wish I could join you. I wanted to hike to it when we there in July but it was buried underneath a couple feet of snow. That whole area was also signed as off-limits by the NPS and when I asked a ranger about it, she gave me attitude and stated that there are hundreds of other waterfalls in the park. I hope you have better luck.

So, Brett, what reason did they give for having it off limits?
Was it a seasonal closure, or a year round restriction?

Hi Bernie, Keep me on your list for this hike. I did it about 4-5 weeks ago. Lots of snow still. I saw several signs in the lower meadow about off-limits but I didn't see the signs further up and I left the trail to photograph the falls. When you get there and look back towards the path, there is another very scenic water fall. I walked mostly on snow pack. When I drove through Logan's pass two days ago, there is new snow at the higher elevations. It's a short season up there!

I talked to a ranger at the Logan Pass VC about the closure. She told me it is closed to lessen
the impact on the fragile fauna. She indicated that it is a closed area most of the time.
While I was on the phone with her I overheard someone say that the area is open now.
She did not seem to know this information. She was not forth coming with directions to
Triple Falls. That seems to be the general consensus regarding getting instructions to Triple Falls.
Although I have not been to the falls, I did find the Falls by some investigation on the web with coordinates that seem to be correct. I have been contacted by a photographer who has been there and he may be available next summer to photograph Triple Falls with me.

Has anyone been to triple falls recently? is the water flowing very much? I am headed to Glacier in a couple of weeks and wonder if this location is worth visiting.
