Long Tailed Tit
Another winter project, I had been trying for a while to get the bird side-on to have a chance of enough DoF to get a sharp tail. Taken at a feeding station a couple of weeks ago.
D2x 500mm f8 1/320 ISO 160, a slight crop to remove half a catkin on the right.
Thanks Simon

Very nice Simon. Good project and nice perch. I like the composition but it feels it might be better to lose a bit at the top and left hand side. either that or letterbox panoramic

Hi Simon

Yet another forum member with a cracking shot of a LTT - I'm sure I will soon be the only one without good LTT images!

Superb! Cannot fault it. DOF so perfect.

What I found slightly confusing is that it appears at first like the bird's body is facing towards the viewer, but it is in fact facing away, and looking back over its shoulder. I only noticed when looking at the feet- I thought at first it had lost a few toes!

Another cracking submission for the LTT medley (this time last year it was dippers, I seem to remember) - the hazel catkins really add to the shot.
