In May I recorded and reported as encouraged by NPNers, my sighting and photos of a Snowy (ID'd here) Egret in Susquehanna County in the northeast corner of Pennsylvania.
Well, after reporting it to the Audubon Society, and then the PA Society of Ornithology, I have been notified by the county compiler for the PSO and PA Birds that:
"Your eBird record of a Snowy Egret in May 2010 in Susquehanna County was forwarded to me because I am the county compiler for PA Birds.
Congratulations! You’ve got splendid photos of a new county record! I know of no other record either in recent or historical times!"
Just thought I'd pass it on, cool news and I would have never known to follow up at the time if not for this forum. Thanks folks. (Oh, here's one shot of a "Melting Snow Angel".

Do you mean that this is the first record of a snowy egret in Susquehanna County? Congratulations on a rare find. Snowies are ubiquitous here.

Yes, the first on record, ever according to what I'm told. I knew it was odd seeing an egret in our part of PA. But thanks to the NPNers I followed thru and reported it. I like that.
