Flying Dragon
Southern Aeshna
Sat having a cuppa in front of my pond the other day and this guy kept coming right up to me. Afemale was actually laying eggs at the other end at the time.
Nearly a full card used to get two shots anything like.
The Sigma 150 doesnt like focusing on small objects against a dark background believe me !
D200
Sigma 150
ISO 500
250th sec f 11

Hi John
I find the background a bit intrusive to the main subject but all the same still a great shot.

John, the wing movement is superb and I like the background as well - something different. Good job you are not using film! Andrew

Hi John,
Great shot. I have difficulties when they are just resting on a branch or something.
You did it flying.
