This is Frodo, a captive fox at the British Wildlife Centre in England.
He loves to pose for the cameras
This was taken through thick chain-link fencing, I held the lens hood against the fence and used a wide aperture to make the fence invisible.
The large version in my gallery is one I prepared for another website, when I recently re-sized it for this site I decided to crop it and clone some grass out.
Do you think I should have cloned out those branches above his head too?, only I wasn't sure.
Sony A350
Sigma 50-500 EX
1/125th second
f6.3
ISO 400
280mm
-0.3 stop exposure compensation
Centre weighted metering
Hand held

Hi Geoffrey
good shot and pose I would get rid of the twigs
Also the background looks bit noisy ?

Thanks Ian, it is noisy too, I missed that.
Now you can see what I'm having to put up with regarding noise, ISO 400 on my camera must be like ISO 6400 on the new models, I'm planning to upgrade once Sony release a camera with a spec that suits me
I've blurred the background, sharpened the photo a bit more and cloned out the branches
Geoff.

Geoff, I really like the colours and composition. I still think it looks just a little soft which may be a result of hand holding. Andrew

A lovely shot The BWC's great for photography - used to love visiting there when I lived in Surrey.

Ok, I've had another go at this one, don't worry, it's my last re-work
Grew the branches back and sharpened it a bit more, I wish I knew what I was doing
Geoff.

Hi Geoff,
I like the image and I think that you have got the best out of the details with your reposts.
I think 1/125 shutter speed with a Sigma 50-500mm hand held, is pushing the limits to achieve anything any sharper.
Cheers
Austin
