Got back on Saturday from 5 weeks in scotland, the first two weeks with Chris Lloyd in Shetland, followed by another 3 weeks hitching my way around the west coast on my own. Needless to say i did far more photography in the first two weeks than i did during the rest of the trip. But i still have loads of images to sort, most of them for the bin .
This image is from Hermaness in Shetland, not entirely sure if it works. I think it was Chris' idea that slow shutter speed gannets might work which i shamelessly stole, so if it works full credit to him and if it doesn't blame my poor execution
40D + kit lens
slow shutter speed, small aperture
Low ISO
FULL FRAME

With the good solid base and the swirls of water at the top holding it all together,I think this works very nicely Jack (or should I say Chris ).
I really like it.
Phil.

A touch of the surreal about this. Very thought provoking.

I cant decide on this one, I love different images, how many bird on sticks can you look at? I have a feeling that this could be an image that looks it best large as it would allow the blurred birds to have more presesnce, good image though and top marks for daring to be different
I like this. Very interesting and unusual image that, as has been said already, is very thought provoking. I am reminded (sad person that I am!) of the whole nonsense furore over 'rods' or 'skyfish' which roamed the web for a while. (Google it and be amused!). Real out-of-the-box image and top marks for that!

I actually really like that! As has been said it's very different. had it just been the blurred birds it may not have worked but because you have the cliff face with the others sittings around, it really brings it all together

I like this a lot. It works well with the stationary birds and the b+w conversion. Andrew

A really good idea (well done Chris!) and superbly executed. I like it.
