Beautiful. Love the soft pointilist effect and overall air of mystery this gives. Cameras can do art (with the right pilot!). Superb.

I suspect this loses a little at this small size but a very attractive shot Chris. Well taken.

I thought Red Kite too when I first saw it. I really like this, and as has been said I bet printed big it looks fantastic - really showing off all the fine detail

Hi All
Thanks for the positive feedback. Danny: you need to get some glasses!
Seriously though, I looked long and hard at this bird before settling on common buzzard - as you can see from the 100% crop the characteristic folked-tail and light eye of the red kite is not present in the bird on the right. The notorious colouration differences of buzzards does make ID difficult at times, but here the comparison leads me to the conclusion that this buzzard is in the 'pale-phase' of its plumage. That said, I'm happy to be convinced otherwise.

C&C welcomed.

Has a painterly sort of look to it, would look great large on a wall.
Well done.
Geoff.
are you sure about the id? the jizz, pale head, breast streaking and longish tail look more red kite
whatever, a well executed shot
