OT: Norway
We just returned from 3 weeks in Norway, a whirlwind tour that included a little of everything: sea, alpine and forest. I had Jack and Momo's work for inspiration - here's my gallery:

Stunning collection! The more images I see from there the more I want to go. Thanks for providing a nice day-dream for my boring Friday at the office

What a great set from that amazing place. And it looks like you had time to do a lot of exploring. Interestingly enough, I was introduced to Reine' via another image just last week. That's a place I need to visit. Thanks for sharing!

Awesome!!! This one here is my fave, along with Gjende Rain. They're all my second favorites... lots of great shots! Taken as a whole, the rainy essence of Norway shines through!

I'll just go out on a limb and say they're all my FIRST favorites! Incredible, amazing stuff. A mile wide AND a mile deep.

Wow!!! What a fabulous series, Dave. Norway is on my "someday" list. BTW, does that lake on the right flow into the Fjord? I'm thinking amazing waterfall.

First rate collection. You worked hard for these I bet, because it shows. Love the color of the water in the lakes!

I love looking at these. You have settled it. Norway is on the short of the short list for me.

Thanks for the kind comments. About the flow of the blue lake into the glacial lake (not a fjord), there is a waterfall, but it flows into a pretty deep crack in the rock. This was a typical day with little time for photography - walk 7-8 hours to get to the next hut in time to secure a bed for the night, shower, get to dinner on time, and hope for some evening light. In the beginning of the trip, every sunrise and sunset was rained out, which got pretty frustrating. For anyone going to Norway: Prepare for lots of rain and a very expensive trip. The only way that we could go was with free Mileage Plus flights. Everything costs 2-3x US prices. IMO, three weeks is a minimum trip length for photographers. You spend a lot of time figuring out how to get from A to B and use buses, trains, ferries, taxi, you name it. We didn't start hiking until our 4th day there. A car is expensive, but gives much greater mobility - Jack Brauer drove about 1 million kilometers on his trip. A car also allows you to car camp and use markets for food, lowering living expenses.
If you're prepared and able to focus on a few key areas - not seeing the whole country - it's an amazing place!
