Nuthatch
Another one from my hide taken on the same day last Winter as my last bird upload.
The sunlight on the snowy background helps make the bird stand out really well.

Sony A350
Sigma 50-500
1/800th second
f8
ISO 200
360mm
+0.7 stop exposure compensation
Centre-weighted metering
Tripod

Good detail and beautiful background Geoff. The colours look a little grey to me though. A Nuthatch normally has a bluer tint. I think I might prefer a little more room at the top of the image. See what others think though as my composition leaves a lot to be desired

Thanks both

Ah, you must be thinking of the English Nuthatches Maggie, this is a Welsh one

Just checked my original RAW file and it is slightly more blueish but not that much, there was so much light around as you can see from my settings that it might have fooled my camera,s white balance?, I don't know, I haven't knowingly altered the colour or anything

You nailed that one for sure Geoff - but Phil T. is spot on, even Welsh ones ain't that colour - just cool the colour temp down a bit and it'll be perfect - at least by English standards anyway  :wavey: :wavey: :jump:
