Hello everyone,
I am careful about formatting my cards in the camera frequently but now I have a problem and need suggestions. A SanDisk Extreme III 4GB in my Nikon D300 tells me that it needs to be formatted but it won't format. I also have a D200, and I tried the card in there also with no success. Any suggestions? I don't care about the files on the card now, just want to be able to use it again if possible. Sometimes I might swap cards between the D200 and the D300. Would that cause problems? I am about to take a photography class and wondering if I can get this card formatted or if I should buy a different card. Also wondering if I did something stupid to this card.
Thanks for any and all help on this one.

The card should work the same in both camera bodies. If you can't format it in camera, it may be defective. They can go bad. Have you tried it in a card reader? If all fails, contact SanDisk for a replacement. If you can't get the problem solved in time for your class, buy another card. It's good practice to have more than one card, anyway.
