I'm new to NPN and also new to Digital Imaging...Have a new Mac and Nikon 5000...

I have only found instructions for uploading images using PE, I am using Aperture...Anybody point me in the right direction to get Aperture instructions?

Thanks!

Are you asking about uploading images to NPN? I don't think it matters what type of computer or what type of software you are using. You just prepare your photo - resize it to not more than 720 pixels on a side and not more than 200kb. Click on Post a Photo in one of the image galleries and follow the instructions n the dialog box.

Jerry : I think you will find what you need in Aperture Help if you type ` exporting versions ' in the search field. Aperture has a number of export presets, which you can modify to suit, so you should also look at ` export presets ' in the Help menu to see how they work. You do need to look in Help - but I will try to summarise.

Basically you need to export your selected image to the desktop ( File - Export - Version ), having first set the parameters you need for the Nature Site ( 720 x 720 ) and under 200kb. When you select Version you get a window with a choice of location to export to at the top ( select Desktop ), then a list of choices, of which ` export preset ' is the first and most important. Using the ` edit ' command at the bottom of the export preset submenu ( click on the arrows on the right side to get it ) you should find setting the pixel size straightforward; the file size is a little trickier, as Aperture gives you only different image qualities, which you need to experiment with to see which one will bring the resulting image under the 200kb mark. Once the version is on the desktop it is easy to select for uploading.

Hope this is of some help - I use Aperture for my processing and mostly find it superb, but the sizing issue is not quite as well addressed as it is in Elements or Photoshop.
