As you read from Scott B. and my posts, we bailed out of the Winds early due to bugs and clear skies. We decided a stop off in the Snowies would be a good idea since they were right on the way home. We had some amazing light and clouds the evening we got there and the next morning the light was there but the clouds ran off an hid again. So here are a couple images from that sunrise on Mirror Lake, as always comments and suggestions welcome. http://paulemartin.zenfolio.com/p311255742/hdf0949f#hdf0949f http://paulemartin.zenfolio.com/p311255742/hdf0949f#h10eb44ea

Beautiful first shot, looks like you didn't have any better luck with clouds there than I did.

Nice stuff, Paul. Both are gorgeous! I really enjoyed some of the other images on your site too.

Nice shots Paul. I especially like the first one. I do love the color of the Snowies at first light. The trick is getting a few clouds in the sky. I photographed six sunrises in the Snowies this summer and didn't get decent clouds even once. Evenings are a different story but the mountains look best in the morning. Glad you had a nice time up there.

Wonderful early morning light in both images. I like the comp more in the first one. Excellent work!

Thanks for the comments, guys. I was my first time up there and I was kicking myself for not exploring the area sooner. I was wondering about the second one, I really liked the stump in the foreground so I was trying to frame it in an appealing way. All in all it was a great trip, with tons of props to Scott B. for the impetus.
