I was contacted last week by a new author named Connie Martin.
She has purchased my "Flamboyant Flyboy" for use on her book cover.
It's in development with her graphic design artist right now, should be in print by the end of the year.
Novel revolves around the untimely death of her only daughter, 15 years ago. She was only 17 at the time.
Less than 10,000 copies to start with, hope her story does well.
If the book takes off (pardon the pun), I will receive payment every 10,000 units.
Anyway, it's a first for me

Awesome Howard! That's a great shot and a good deal. did you get paid for a one time use on the cover initially? or for each copy?
Thats a great shot , knowing how hard they are to get with everything being just right.
Will she convert this to a vertical?
I just sold my 4th or 5th cover and I know how difficult it is sometimes to make the change over, from landscape to portrait..
Thanks for sharing Randall
that's great - excellent shot and nice exposure.
Congrats!

cool! How did she find your photo? Do you have a website? I am hoping to sell my photos but don't know where to start.

Thank you all for your positive feedback, I appreciate it.
For Dave in SD,
I have a limited # of images on two different stock sites, but have moved away from that.
This was a referral from someone along the "social network". She told Connie about my cardinals when her book came up in conversation.
So it does pay sometimes to hang your stuff on the net, like NPN here..
For Gary,
It's licensed for up to 10,000 copies. When & if it goes over that amount, I get paid again.
Hope that answers your ?
