I fullfilled a long time idea of watching a sunset from the summit of Gibson Peak. The two summit pano's support a Trip Report if you are interested. Overall I'm happy with my photos. I had no idea if my pano shots would turn out; I basically had two minutes to get both run of shots. The fall color was an added bonus. The overall color in the Sangres is just starting at elevations above 11,500-ft.

The panos turned out great, and I love the yellow/lime fall colors. What lens did you use for your pano shots?

Koveh, I use the 24-70 at 32mm. I find this particular lens to be as sharp as the 50 1.4 prime. Thus I don't own any primes anymore.

Congrats! Those turned out real well, even w/o the clouds. Colors are really coming along, it looks like its going to be a stinking dry rest of September...

Thanks Kane for the information. I have found I get too much distortion on the edges with my super wide angle for panos to stitch together well, which is why I asked.

The mountains, trees, and sky create a nice band of colors in the Sept.Sangres image.
