I have a chance to be in Rogers this Fri. and will probably have some time to kill in the afternoon. If any of you locals have galleries I would love to see them or any other recommendations. Thanks.

Hey Ken, there's a ton of stuff going on in the area. For starters, you'll be just in time for the monthly "3rd Friday Artwalk" held in historic downtown Rogers. I'll have a few of my favorite stretched canvas prints, along with some paper prints on display at Brick Street Botanical from 5-9pm. Holly usually has complimentary wine, appetizers, and a keg for the event, so it's always a lot of fun. My work always looks better after a glass of wine too.
I might also suggest a trip over to the construction site for the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in nearby Bentonville if you have time. There is a short (1/2 mile or so) trail that begins at Compton Gardens and takes you over to an observation area for the museum. If you still have time, you might like to see Danny Lyon's "Bikeriders" photography exhibit at Crystal Bridges at the Massey just off the square in downtown Bentonville. Actually, I would probably start with Lyon's exhibit and go from there.
I hope you'll have time to stop by and visit.

Thanks a lot Bill. It sounds like I shouldn't have any problem finding something to do.
On another note, I'm thinking of heading to Steele Creek campground Sat. night but might not get there till late. Would anyone be able to tell me if the campground would be full or not this time of year and what my other options might be inn the area? I would just sleep in the back of my 4runner. Thanks.
Should be plenty of room at Steele Creek, if not then Lost Valley, or even Lost Valley in Ponca, or once you get out of the park you can pull over and camp anywhere you like in the Ozark National Forest nearby (like around Hawksbill Crag - as long as you are not on private property). Or you could jump over into the Richland Creek or Falling Water area (all national forest) - park anywhere for the night. Should be a spectacular weekend to be out!

Karla and I are planning to camp at Steele Creek. We plan to chase elk Saturday morning, Lost Valley around 9am. Head to Jasper for lunch at Ozark Cafe. Then after lunch start camp at Steele Creek. Maybe a sunset at Roark Bluff. Clear sky- star trails with the Buffalo Bluffline. Sunday head home.
Hope to meet ya Ken.
Anyone else interested? Could make it a pre-fall gathering thrown together at the very last minute.
We drive a 2007 green four door jeep. Cell phones are worthless down there. There will be another photographer friend of mine with us at Lost Valley.

I'll look for you Mike. I probably won't get there until 9-10 o'clock. I was thinking that the moon might be bright enough on the bluffs and river for some interesting shots. I've only been there once so it would be nice to meet up with someone who knows their way around.
By the way, I drive a 98 brown 4runner, KS tags.

Look forward to it. After Lost Valley, we hope to claim a camping spot at Steele Creek before heading to Jasper for some good cooking at the Ozark Cafe. It may be 3pm or so before we get back to the campground. We are bringing a single person tent so you don't have to sleep in the rig.
