Greetings from Asheville, NC! I'm heading back to Glacier Natl Park this weekend for 4-5 days and just checking to see if anyone has any Fall color reports for that area? I realize its a little early and taking a gamble that snow won't move in and close the road down even though the access to Logan Pass from west side is closing Sun evening I understand. Any updates or recommendations of good areas for Fall color would be appreciated.
If anyone else is going to be in the park shooting this weekend or early next week, let me know and maybe we can meet up for some shoots.
Thanks!

Linda, if you post one of the pictures of you from your website in this thread, I'm sure there would be a bounty of single guys on this forum who would suddenly feel the need to drive to Montana this weekend.
Excellent image collection, btw.

Linda, I just returned from the Glacier NP area yesterday. There's a lot of pine trees but the bushes and grasses along 49 on the east side of the park by East Glacier Park were starting to get some autumn color. Not much turning on the west side, it seems to me the west side is almost all pine trees so not much fall color there. I spent some time along the East Side Hungry Horse Reservoir Road. The few trees there that weren't pine were starting to get color.

Your website is filled with some great images, Linda! Outstanding level of work.
My experience in Glacier is limited, but the east side was definitely the place for fall color when I was there. Still, not a great fall destination, imo, but who cares when you have scenery like Glacier. If you have fall color, it's just a bonus to an extraordinary place. Be sure and post some of your work here after your trip. I'm sure you will come away with some marvelous stuff.
Todd, I'm old and I have been married for a LONG time, and I'm still thinking about going to Montana this weekend after seeing Linda's picture.

I just this morning updated my blog www.glacierparkphotographer.blogspot.com . I live in east glacier park . . . the easy sum-up to your question is "perfect timing" . . . .
The chief mtn shots is from about 6 years ago, but i believe you can expect to get some great color this year - maybe even as good as what i've posted . . . Lets cross our fingers!
