Horn Peak
I needed some fresh air on my token day off yesterday, so i went up the Horn Peak trail in the Sangres. Awesome day for a hike/climb, and terrific views from Horn (13,450 ft). A circuit around Fluted and Little Horn would have been nice, but i left a bit too late in the day for that. Here's the view from the summit. See it BIG Here
(ill correct the vignette issue in the corner at some point!)

A nice sunset to end the day (well, several pints of Guinness were still to come... )

Oh MAN! That pano is spectacular! It's the type of image I could just gaze at for a long, long time. The fact that it's an afternoon shot, and the way you handled those lighting conditions, and those beautiful clouds, all make it one of those feel-like-I'm-there shots.

Awesome pano and nice collection of images, Stan. I envy your ability to get out so much. My darn family is always demanding my attention, lol!

Hey, the pano will have to go in Man and Nature since I see your pack and walking poles on the left side of the image! That pano is just excellent. I loves me some autumn tundra! All of them are your usual excellence, but that spotlit aspen tree shot needs to be printed HUGE!

Nice stuff, Stan! I like the pack pack and poles, makes me feel like I'm out there.

The pano is fantastic...I think I like it more than the ESS posting. Great Job!

Fabulous work, as usual, Stan. I really like the pano, but that tree shot is my favorite.

Nice Stan. My jaw dropped when I saw the highlighted tree. The gold tundra and blue sky in the pano are awesome too!

The pano is awesome for sure and I also like the tree (#2). Everyone knows how I appreciate spotlighting!

As usual, the best of this series is posted at ES&S. I like it better than the panorama, actually. The spotlit tree is pretty gorgeous, too.

Stan, Huh? You didn't stick around to sunset!!!!! Doh!!! That long ridge from Fluted to Little Horn would have blown up along with Adams and the Crestones. However, Horn definately makes for a better sunrise. Horn sticks out as far east as most of the big peak on that side of the range. I bet you could get a 180 view of sunrise from up there. What a pano that would be.

A beautiful one indeed. Love the color and the little fluffy clouds.
