I have a Nikon 70-200 f/2.8 AF-S VR lens which has an ingenious removable foot for the tripod collar. I use this lens from both a tripod and a gunstock style shoulder mount for flight shots. Where can one buy an additional "foot" for this lens? I would like to keep one mounted to the shoulder stock all the time.

Any help appreciated.

Try B&H. They have a lot of these collars for Canon lenses. I assume they'll have them for Nikon too.

Mike - I think Really Right Stuff or Kirk Enterprises both have a custon foot they manufacture that could be better and cheaper than the Nikon version.

B&H will likely have the part, and your local cmaera store can probably order it for you.

Suggest you check RRS -- LCF-10 (removable foot which has an Arca Swiss type plate built in).

I have a custom foot from Kirk which was made for an old Tokina 80-400 zoom I had. It is really nicely made. When I sold the lens years back, the buyer (a commercial photography store) wasn't willing to give me much for the foot, so I kept it (they are pricey--around $200, if I recall). I don't know if it will ever fit another lens. If you e-mail me with the diameter, I can measure it. Its just collecting dust in my basement these days. And---I am not as greedy as I used to be. I would give it to a fellow photographer who could get some good use out of it.

Thanks for all the help. I have purchased a replacement from Kirk and I also found a fellow photographer with a Nikon original he would part with so I now have THREE!
