Juvenile Swallow
Taken on the only dull day we had in Norfolk.Wasn't sure on the position of the bird in this one only slightly cropped for compostion, but space to the left or right didn t seem to look right as he was looking at me so went on the postion on the eye.

Canon 1DMK4, Canon 500f4L + 1,4 convertor, ISO 400, f6.3, 1/400

Be tempted to lose some of the RHS but I see what you mean, as it is the eye is nicely 3rded in the scene. Great capture of this shy bird.

Hi Karen,

I'd like to see the subject off set to the right, but thats just my opinion and understand what you mean about the eye. Think also the whole image could be lightened a little and a fraction more of saturation. Nice and sharp with a super BG though.

Regards

Rob

thanks Rob I think some off the right does work, have left the saturation though as he was a lot duller than the adult but can understand your advice

Well done.

Hello Karen.

Lovely shot.

Here's my thoughts on the composition.

It needs less on the top and right and more on the bottom and left. This will move the Swallow more to the top right giving space in front instead of behind.

Second one for me too, Karen. Lovely bird and BG, I think Guy has nailed the suggested composition.

Looks spot on to me. The colours look right too. I saw these last week too and some were still hanging on this weekend just past.
