I just wanted to post my "thanks" to everyone at NPN, the moderators and fellow members, who have guided me along the way through my photography journey. I have listened to your comments and critiques when I post images in the galleries and have taken all of this to heart. Over these past few years I have learned so much and I continue to learn from each and everyone of you and for that I would just like to say "thank you."
For me, photography has been a way to heal my soul as I just get lost in the moment when I have the camera in hand. I still have a long way to go, but I just take one day at a time. I recently entered two of my images in our North Carolina Mountain State Fair and was honored to receive Blue Ribbons for both images; one in the landscape category - "On The Trail" and one in the Flowers-Plants category - "After The Rain" (which was also a Weekly Editor's Pick this past May.)
Your comments and support and recognition, like this from my state fair, is what keeps me going and filling up these memory cards.
... and this is why I love NPN. You're the best! OK, now back to my camera. Thank you all.

Ditto, I couldn't agree more. I found this site in December 2005, at which time I was a clueless snapshooter who had owned a film SLR for 21 years. The work I saw on here and the honest critiques you get and the huge amount of articles have literally changed my photographic life (along with a Singh-Ray 3-Stop Hard ND Grad, lol!). And now it's all culminated (sp?) in the Ultimate Guide book that NPN has produced, of which I have a copy.
BTW, for anyone who found this site as a rookie, do you remember the first jaw-dropping image you came across? For me it was a vertical image by Marc Adamus at the Oregon Coast that he had named Light in Motion. You can see it here. This link will take you away from NPN unfortunately... Marc doesn't have this one in his gallery or website any longer.

I certainly understand your sentiments Barbara as I share them as well. NPN is a wonderful community and a great resource. We all owe a lot to Jim & Donna for hosting the site, and to all the moderators, editors, and participants for giving their time and expertise so generously.
Thanks Bill and Paul. Yes, we do owe a lot to Jim and Donna and to all the moderators, editors and participants. Sometimes we get so busy with our every day lives, but I really appreciate everyone who has commented on my posts; I have really learned a lot, and I will continue to learn more down the road. Thanks again for reading this post.
