Is it just me or does anyone else feel like the fall colors have an early start? From what I see on this forum from some other locations and what I see around my neck of the woods, there's a lot of stands of aspens already at peak or even starting to lose their leaves. This was this afternoon on Buffalo Pass just a few miles above Steamboat and I posted some others on the Fall Colors Report.

I just checked my Kenosha Pass fall color photos for the past several years and my peak-color photos varied from 9/16 - 9/28, with this year and 2006 being at 9/16. So yes, this year does seem to be on the early side of the average.

Summit county and the vail area are right on schedule for fall colors. I would consider this a normal year for color in my area.

That is some nice color, Rod. Here's hoping the winds don't strip the leaves too early.

Bob, right on---I drove from Steamboat down to Edwards yesterday and everything south of Oak Creek, including the Flat Tops, looks right on schedule---just starting to turn. Which makes me wonder why pockets of Buffalo Pass here are so far along---may have to do with the leaf mold or disease.
