Moraine Park Mornings

In early July I spent a few days camping in RMNP to catch some early morning light.
With all the beetle kill trees, you don't need to wait until October to get "fall" colors!

Canon 70-200mm IS f4, Single exposure @ 78mm, f16, 0.5 sec, ISO 100

#2 - a wider perspective, 4 minutes later.

Canon 24-105 IS f/4, Single exposure @ 28mm, f/16, 0.5 sec, ISO 100

#3 - From the previous morning. Quite a different experience. Too bad the sun never popped through the clouds.
I'm certain that Christo guy would have appreciated this curtain of fog.

What an awesome series, Bill. All so different, but equally beautiful. (No surprise I'm partial to the last one.)

The red hillsides really help the green meadows pop! And the cool look in the last one is a big 180 from the 1st one what a difference! Great collection!

Well, as cool as that fogbank is (esp. in that scene), #2 really stands out for me because of the sunlit ridge, great skies and excellent composition. Fine series!

Nice, Bill. I have to say I'm partial to #3 mostly because I've never seen Moraine Park look like that. I love what the long exposure did to the water.

Bill, that fog band is super cool...and what a huge contrast from the first image (which I really like the light in).

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. I'm rather surprised that the fog bank image was so well received. I just threw it in to show the contrast between the two mornings. I thought everyone would feel the fog dominated too much of the image.
