I thought this shot pretty well summed up the conditions at Bear Lake yesterday morning. It's about half turned with some full on yellow and gold, and some still green. Yes, it is an icon, but it looked like this would be the only area along the front range that was going to have clouds for sunrise. Unfortunately they were farther north than here.
Steven, it was great to see you and talk shop and life!
I also stopped by Erik's tent at the art show in Estes. Still wiping the drool off of my chin after looking at his large wonderful prints. Good to see you again, buddy!

Well, this isn't iconic to these old eyes!
This is real pretty, with lots of different elements that combine and create a very cohesive and lovely scene.
No nits whatsoever...well done, Morris!

Iconic or not, this is exceptional. Lovely view, fantastic colors, perfect processing...outstanding image, Morris.

Icon? Who cares! This is, well, iconic! I've never noticed in previous shots from here that you actually get the top of Longs Peak reflected in the lake. That's just so cool!

Great shot Morris!

Iconic, schmiconic. A well perceived and well executed image is just that. Nice work Morris.

Beautiful capture Morris.

It was good seeing you up there as well. Nice job on this shot. Too bad the breeze picked-up and messed-up the perfect mirror we saw when we arrived. And maybe you want to clone out those noisy people on the far shore as well.

I never tire of images from here. Well done, Morris. Beautiful scene and great processing.

I came REALLY close to going to this spot on Sat. morning, however I decided to chase the clouds and went to Bierstadt Lake instead. I like the counter-clockwise progression of colors framing this shot, from green all the way around to the deep yellows.
Great light and color, I like the soft contrast throughout the image.

Morris, I can't get over how your images look so life like. They're just so crisp and clean. Another great piece of work. Congrats!

That is gorgeous. I have always wanted to hit that spot for myself when the aspens are right. would it be asking a trade secret for someone to indicate how to find that spot? is it a matter of scrambling up the mountain or is it along that bierstadt trail that comes off of bear lake loop? thanks

Wow, great shot Morris. Starting to look really good up there.

Thanks everyone
Steven, can you believe how quick the wind picked up after we remarked how calm it was?
Tim, I just scrambled up that great boulder field and looked for a clearing in the trees. Thought the old guy was going to have a heart attack!
