I am right now for the first time since joining NPN using my laptop monitor, set at 1360x768, instead of my external monitor, set at a much lower resolution. I just looked at my Gator image in the Weekly Challenge on this higher resolution monitor and it is almost complete noise. :( I can only imagine what other images have looked like. I probably don't have the nerve to look at them all.
One of the comments for that image suggested Topaz DeNoise, and I'm trying that out now. But I wanted to make this post not only to let you know that I had no idea how the noise looked on a higher resolution monitor, which most of you are probably using, but also for anyone else new to nature photography that might not have realized this yet.

I just made a repost to Gator in Weekly Challenge after using Topaz DeNoise.

Yes, monitors do make a difference.
So does color-calibrating the monitor... but that is another topic..
