Here's a shot I neglected to post from one of my July outings. This is from Corkscrew Pass, looking down valley towards Silverton. Incidentally, have you noticed Corkscrew Pass is the backdrop for the recent Jeep commercial, the one that shows a close-up of the vehicle's undercarriage grinding across broken rock? Cool. Probably didn't even have to crash a helicopter to get the shot.

I like this a lot. In terms of composition, I'd prefer a crop from the right until the photo is a square. Thanks for posting.

Yeah, but did the Jeep drive itself??
Cool shot, Todd--i agree with Momo's crop.

Fine light, view and skies.
Another vote for the crop suggestion.

Hey Todd- are you sure they filmed the jeep commercial at corkscrew? They were just up above Keystone filming at Radical Hill area.

Ditto on the crop, and the bits of clouds hanging in the valley make this another fine "Caudle." Is this a blend? You have such a great balance in the exposure. So natural I feel like I'm standing right there taking this all in! :toast:

Well, even though I've been banned from the forum, , my access has been temporarily reinstated (it is morning now!) Really like the feeling of depth here. This comp really reminds me of a similar comp using Long's Peak in the background from the Cut on Trail Ridge Road. Oh, by the way the $1000 check is in the mail....to Morris, he said he was acting as your personal secretary, now that you've been too busy in your New Jeep exploring the Colorado backcountry.

Maybe they used one of those life-sized Jeeps like you have Todd and a Macro lens!

Great shot! I love the high perspective, really captures that exhilarating feeling of being way above the valley. I like the crop idea too; my eye seems to get a little stuck on the yellow lichens at top right.

The use of foreground is effective (although I'd also agree experimenting the crop). All the nice elements in the valley really draw the viewers into the image!

Todd, very nice photograph. You may have two images here. One with the suggested cropping of the beautiful rock and another with a little crop from the left that would make the rock your focal point.

I could see this working with or without the crop. Either way, this is wonderful, Todd.
