The OOF tail doesn't bother me, the OOF vertical grass stems L & R of the subject at eye level compete for my attention. Nice image.

Nice image from a technical PoV, especially because of the differential focus.
The one nit for me is that the image, aesthetically, doesn't suspend my disbelief - i.e. the grass ends look like they are lawn-mower cut and therefore the naturalistic effect is lost. I'm not accusing you of anything untoward in terms of the circumstances in which you made this image, Brett, I'm merely pointing out that the image doesn't appear as natural as it could.
That said, the grass could have been munched by a cow, goat, vegetarian, etc.
Must be difficult to achieve such a low level shot when the subject is so small Brett. Its a different angle and a characterful portrait though. Just a few dust bunnies in there to deal with (above the head)

Thanks Guys, all thoughts welcome and it is, after all, a working progress..
@ Chris: You have a very valid point regarding the grass and it has been mown by a tractor and flail mower..! I will have to think more carefully about that. The site I am working on is subject to development in the, not to distant, future.. That said you are also right that it could quite easily have been subject to grazing like many of my other sites here in Kent where I also encounter all the four, widespread species of reptile.

The head is lovely and sharp, another good lizard photo.
Well done.

Love the view piont and the composition. The only nit for me would be the two blades of grass in front of the lizard.
