There is never a time of year I miss living in Colorado more than right now. For those of you planning your trip out there or maybe thinking about it *This* is the time of year to visit CO.
A trip to the Bells, the San Juans and Crested Butte areas during Fall colors is one that will stay with you for many years.
Take a look at this initial shot of the season. Not bad at all:

Thanks for sharing, Derek. I've been to the Maroon Bells once for autumn
color. Your image is prettier than when I was there. I hope that you have
some more current images of fall color to share with us, particularly from
the San Juans. I'm considering a trip there in a week to ten days. However,
I don't want to make the long drive if autumn color is average or less so this
fall.

Hi Robert,
I just wanted to show CANPers current conditions at the Bells. The photographer vibhav, who isn't me, posted it recently on FM.
As to your questions it's never easy predicting exact best timings for various locations. One of the best indicators are recent reports, first blood, like this shot here.
But the San Juans peak a bit a later than Aspen does. So your time frame sounds pretty good so far. Just keep your eyes out for early reports.
