Stacked fungi

Hi all
Here is a fungi that has had a 3 shot stack applied to it,I have been playing about with this technique over the last week or so on fungi and finally found a system that I think works. I have done stacking plenty of times before but hit problems with fungi due to the depth of them, I either ended up with the background to sharp thus "busying up" the shot to much or ending up with a section of the fungi out of focus.

I have found that using as few stacks as possible at f8 keeps the fungi sharp and throws the background out, as long as there is some space behind the specimen. Anyway thats a lot of explanation what do you all think? I think it sets the fungi in situ well but gives good contrast between mush and detail.

good stacking technique Shaun, it's worked well. If I was to be very picky I'd say you needed one more frame as the very front of the fungi in the middle doesn't look quite as sharp as the rest.
