I have been working with Linnets for sometime now. This is one from earlier in the year (sometime in August) and took it as the sun rose with quite a strong orange disc which shone across the ocean and onto the bird...quite the morning! Not the perfect shot for me with the tail out of focus...and not the perfect perch but I prefer to keep things as wild as possible.

Lovely light and a cracking subject. I can't make up my mind if you need more space on the right for the bird to look in to.

very nice pose and light Ian. I've seen so many poorly finches over the years that I whenever I see one with its feathers ruffled like this I always fear the worse, but hopefully on this occasion it was just having a shake and a preen.
