I was never satisfied completely with the exposure I got this morning overlooking Mesa Arch - so I reworked it with a very warm white balance. I think I like it as seen in this "new" light.

Sorry about the effects of JPEG compression.. I see them now that I have posted it.

Ned,
I have seen many, many shots of this arch at all times of the year and day. I'm thinking maybe a little lower with the camera and some more sky below the arch with the sun being almost below the horizon. I'm going for perfection here since I've seen this shot many times. Don't get me wrong. I think this is a real cool shot. I'm just thinking out loud for what would put it over the top. IMHO of course!

I felt pretty lucky to get this shot in another way too. I was sandwiched between 20 or so other photograpaphers who got there before I did - and I had one tiny hole to crowd into..

Not surprising. As one of the most photographed icons on Earth, you have to be brave to even show up. Glad you did Ned. This is one of the more enjoyable shots I've seen from here. I agree it needs a small crop off the top though. Mabye just down to the arch or very close to it - very small crop. I love the sunburst and just enough view through the window towards the Canyonlands.

Thanks for the additional comments. The crop suggestion sounds like a good one, and I appreciate the feedback.
