I have been selected as one of the twelve finalists in the countryfile photographic competition.
My shot will appear as one of the months in the Children in need calendar.
I was really pleased to be selected and feel this shot was the best of a series taken in the Scottish Highlands.
The overall winner is decided by public vote, so will just have to wait and see
Thanks for the feedback on my previous images, with regards,
Lee

I'd never met Nigel to be honest, we just both happened to be on the same trip,
I can remember both of us reviewing the shots on our cameras and being pleased with this sequence,
He was a nice bloke though and is a shame for him,
Lee
I too saw this on Sunday. Well done Lee. A stunning image.

Well Done Lee...its a very nice shot. The reflection down the barrel looks good to me.
Is it from your own hide set-up or a pre-existing hide? Is it possible to share some details on the shot in relation to camera settings, lens choice etc.
Thanks
Ian

Congratulations Lee it really is one to be proud of - caught at just the right moment from a great angle.
Very minor nit and easily rectified if you agree - just a little dark on my monitor.

I think Lee will forgive me for naming the site, but I believe this was taken at the Rothiemurchus estate in Scotland. I have pasted the link to their website below. The person to ask for is Keif who runs the sessions for photographers.
It is an excellent set up. The Hides are moveable so that they can be positioned with their back facing the wind, i.e. so that the opening faces the direction in which the Opsreys are most likely to dive into. You are in contact with Keif via a walkie talkie and he will let you know when the Ospreys are about to dive.
