This is an older image I found lurking in my archive and decided to work it up. It was made in July, 2008 at Gualala Point.

Tachihara 4x5
180mm Fujinon
Astia 100F

I appreciate your comments on my recent posts, and would like to hear your thoughts on this one, too.

Feels like I could reach out and touch it Preston!

Another nice one, Preston. I like how you either shot this with the diagonal view or post processed the rotation for the angle of view, regardless, it works very well overall.

Thanks for the comments, gents.

Paul I wandered all over this taffoni 'field' looking for suitable diagonal composition with a good balance of 'holes'. This is 'as shot', and is full frame.

I don't get over to coast often, but I really love these taffoni structures, and would like to find more of them.

Preston,

Very nice and intimate capture of the taffoni. The warm directional light really adds to the image. No nits really - good eye.
