A Spot Of Luck-Kingfisher
Having spent the last two months on and of at a site I have worked on and developed myself on the river Trent, watching a pair of Kingfishers I have been able to see these amazing birds up close, flying past me,their behaviours, how they interact with each other etc and at the moment the parent birds are chasing off the young sad to watch as they still beg for food sometimes. I have moved my hide now to a place where these bulrushes grow naturally,I did place a perch not to far but over time I noticed they like to use these to watch the river go by. The task was to get a Kingfisher on one and today I had a spot of luck as this female landed ,only for a few seconds but enough for me to capture her.The back ground is the river giving off this beautiful jade green colour.

A crafted shot Craig; lovely feel to the image due to the light - the added interest of a different style of perch lifts the image beyond a run-of-the-mill KF shot.

Cheers,
Chris

Really love this one Craig. Wonderful composition and the subtle background colour really compliments the image.

Just started trekking our local bird again hoping to pick up where I left off earlier this year. Hope I get some decent looking shots as you have. I do like this one very much - the BG colour, pose/comp, & perch, all work really well here.

Regards,

Des :toast: :toast:

isn't it more of a stream up thier- LOL

The other day the water level was so high it sweeped my hide away as I leave it there, but on most days it has a good level of water   :wavey:

Really Nice... Craig - one of the better KF shots of late...although I think I can see some dust spots...maybe its my eyes playing up (three bottom left 1/3 up from the bottom, 1 middle top and a slight one to the right of the perch).

Thank you for your kind comments folks.
Neil Burton- I always remember the Trent being a brownish tone ;) Neil there is a large tree line on either side of the river which is covered in leaves and this reflects the colour green onto the water.

Many Thanks   :wavey:
