I a new member Jay Miller-Great Bend, Kansas
The Hummingbirds in our backyard this year have been fabulous.
Black -Chinned, Broad-Tailed in June- Rufus and Ruby-Throated in August and September. Thanks to Rob Graham's idenification and recommending a branch for a perch near the feeder.

Hey Jay - - - Welcome to the board. You could not have picked a better mentor for what is going on around Great Bend. This is a great shot with a dof and a different and unique position for the subject. I like it.....

I really like being able to see the feather details and color in the wings, tail and back. Nice preening action and a super background. This looks to be soft from web compression but a little bit of sharpening for the web might make a very good image great. Super first post Jay; looking forward to seeing more!

that is a STUNNING hummingbird shot! not to hijack but my house had a great share of birds this year too. 5 x 72 oz feeders! i was going through over a gallon a day in the busy season! they are all but gone now, but here is a little video from my backyard...if you can stomach all 3 minutes you will see some busy birds especially if you watch the far feeder...(the birds slowed down considerably when i put a camera on a tripod a foot away from the feeder! LOL)
