Last call for all of you Dahlia and Floral photographers. Despite our recent rains, most of the blooms are in good shape and colors are very vibrant. The growers advise they should hold up until the first frost, so I'm guessing maybe another 2 weeks or so.
Very NICE composition with a well selected dof and so colorful, Craig. Just great to catch the droplet like that, too.

Great composition and colors Craig. I really like how you included the flower at the bottom of the frame.

I know dahlias are big down in Oregon, but is there any good place to find them around Seattle?

James,
I am not aware of where the floral hot spots for Dahlia's and others are up north. I would suggest you post a topic here in the PNWNP Forum asking that question. I bet you will get some replies from the Seattle area photographers.
Good Luck, Craig

James, there's a Dahlia garden at Point Defiance in Tacoma, I haven't visited it this year though. Also in south King County you can visit Jim' Dahlia's near Enumclaw. To get there just head S on Hwy 169 go through Maple Valley and Black Diamond. Turn R onto 400th (Krain's Corner) and Jim's small Dahlia farm is about a mile or so down the rd on the right. He's got an acre or so of Dahlia's, many varieties. I was there a couple weeks ago and his blooms were really kicking then. I drive by them everyday the they still look pretty good. Photographers are welcome and if you want to purchase some cut flowers or order bulbs he's way beyond reasonable. Really nice people too. 5 stars.....
