Brown Hare
One from a couple of weeks back. I had been out with the camera since 5am looking for the group of Roe Deer that frequent the fields and wood behind our house but with no luck. I saw this fella lying down in the field near the house facing the road so doubled back and managed to get behind him by approaching from a field further away. I then crawled approx 200 metres across the field and managed to get within 3 or 4 metres of the hare who was still lying down with his back to me. Unlike Ian with his Mountain Hare I then spent ten minutes firing the shutter trying to alert the hare to my presence! (I have a lovely sequence of his backside!!) He did eventually get up and let me take quite a few shot as he gradually ambled further along the field.

Canon 50d, canon 100-400 @310
1/500
F7.1
ISO 250

Well done! I think they have great facial expressions. I'm sure my mountain hare smelled or saw me before he hear me! I might take a little of the dark bit off the top.

Hello Scott.

Lovely capture and POV and the eye contact is great.

I think I would try and reduce the brightness on the Hare and the grass at the bottom, but the top half of the background I would leave as is.

Agree that the hare is contrasty, but wonderful woeful looking thing he is.

Nits covered, but still a wonderful shot that captures the essence of my favourite British mammal.

Lovely shot with a great pose from the hare. A little bit contrasty but easily remedied with Shadow/Highlight slider.
They're a great subject, aren't they?

Great eye in this shot, as said above a little harsh on the contrast but still very good :toast:

A great capture which can easily be improved even more with less contrast as stated.
Well captured.

Geoff.

Thanks, everyone for the replies. I've given the contrast and brightness a bit of a tweak!
