Since we began offering paid memberships back in 2001 that include special on-site benefits, NPN membership has steadily grown. Today, well over 80 percent of all of those who regularly participate on the NPN website are official members and enjoy all of the benefits membership has to offer.
Beginning on November 1, 2010 there will be changes in NPN membership requirements in order to access the NPN website;
1. As has always been the case, the NPN image critique galleries will remain open to public viewing with no registration required. Each month we attract nearly 100,000 unique visitors who come to this site to enjoy the extraordinary photography posted by our members. This will remain unchanged.
2. All discussion forums will remain accessible to the public with no registration required. However, search capability will be reserved for members only. Additionally, there may be some restrictions placed on viewable content by the public at some point in the future.
3. In order to create a registration and log-in to post photos, questions and comments, a valid (and current) NPN membership number will be required. The net result of this is that only members will be able to post in any NPN gallery or forum, including the regional forums.
Along with these changes, we will continue to develop new benefits of NPN membership. You can view a full list of the current member benefits here, which will be updated on November 1. We will continue to offer the free 30-day trial membership so that anyone can give membership a try without having to make any investment or commitment.
By moving to a "members only" format, we will be in better position to offer new benefits and add value to NPN membership. It is after all you, the NPN membership, that makes this site as good as it is!
