Colorado Plateau by Night
There were lots of clear skies in early Sept. during my trip to UT/northern AZ, so I spent much of the time taking night shots...I'll post a few here I've yet to post anywhere else...this one is Metate Arch in Escalante NM.

And you can see More Here

Thanks to John Mumaw for finally getting me to this spot after I failed four years ago...

And Sunset Arch...taken well after sunset but while it was still just light enough to illuminate the arch.

Spectacular shots! Well worth the effort.

Your night photo portfolio is about the best around. Great stuff!

Real nice work, Grant...

The night shots on your site are just fantastic! I don't think I have a favorite although I tend to enjoy shots with the Milky Way clearly visible. Thanks for sharing!

Great captures here Grant....what I really love is your False Kiva capture in the thread above!

All three shots are fantastic Grant. Well done!

Awesome work on all of these. The formations in the Devil's Garden Milky Way shot look like Moai statues, really cool.

Grant, all your work is excellent, but your night stuff is off the charts! Excellent stuff!!

My favorite is that slot canyon arch 'cause I know how difficult it was to capture that one!
Sunset Arch is excellent, as are all of your other night shots from this trip (love that 'moonstar'!).
False Kiva still has some issues with correctly balanced sky/land, though.
All in all, a very productive trip, I'd say!

Your night shots are just sick they are so good! :toast: And the slot shot is gorgeous. :toast:

Great stuff, but have to say I like the slot canyon one the best.

Wow! This is some fine work, Grant. I'm with John about the False Kiva shot, but the rest are mesmerizing.

Wow, awesome gallery! I dig 'em all. I think my favorite would be the False Kiva one, if it weren't quite as overcooked looking. The rest seem spot-on.

Thanks for the comments! I am going to go back to an earlier version of the False Kiva shot and do some small adjustment to that. I think I destroyed it by overworking and overthinking it.

That third image is just stunning!
