A harvest moon is the full moon closest to the autumnal equinox, when night and day are equal in length. And, apparently, for the first time since 1991, these two events coincided in the small hours of Thursday, in the northern hemisphere. I didn't know that, but it certainly looked impressive tonight!

2 great shots Ian, I like them both.
Come to think of it, the Moon has been quite bright these last few nights.
Well captured
Geoff.

Like them both but prefer the second as that one shows the "layers" better.
Well done getting this much detail.

Prefer the first one although I think you need to plant a tree on the top of that ridge!

definately the first one for me, certainly a great subject captured well, agree with Simon's tree suggestion

Either for me , executed nicely .A balance on the horizon to the right would have been a bonus .

Have you got a x2 extender as I would like a bigger moon? Watch Yellowstone (BBC version). Incredible moon shots - these shots reminded me a bit of this, so must be quite good images.
