Have you ever tried to eat a lunch that kept trying to "Get Away" from you? Still delicious I guess, just takes a bit longer to finish!
I observed this GBHeron at the Nat'l Wildlife Refuge yesterday, he stood in a slough's water and must have found a nest of snakes. In a half hour he caught and ate 3 snakes (no fries on the side.)

Holy smokes Craig, this is amazing!!! This shot really shows real nature at it's finest. The composition is outstanding and I like the solid blue background which doesn't have any distractions from the amazing scene. Well done.

Holy cow, Craig. This is an awesome, jaw dropping image. Congratulations. I can't get enough of looking at it. I hope you've posted this in the Avian forum. This is image of the week/year quality! Outstanding.

Thank you Scott and David for the positive comments. I was both encouraged and disappointed at the time I took the images. Encouraged with the possibilities of several "snake in the mouth" images and disappointed at the time as the GBH was standing in water at the sloughs edge and close to me, BUT all the shots had to be made thru some heavy grasses that left OOF Blurs in most. With some patience and PS I was able to clone out the grasses, thus the plain blue BG.
I did post this in the Avian Gallery with several positive comments. The nit was to lighten up on the contrast which I did. Here is the "new and improved" version. "Thanks again!" Craig
