Elk
Sorry it has been awhile since my last post. Been busy at the lab and with life in general!
Captured in RMNP. The rut is finally starting to pick up!

Great shots and posses Dan! The liught on the first one is great! Today was much better. Most people didn't find the group me, Weldon and Lori were photographing, so the Elk stayed pretty close and we got to move around a lot to get in good position with the light.

So, it is looking like yours and Kurt's photos were both in the morning. In the past, I've only shot the rut in the evenings. In your experience, is the morning better than the evening? I'm planning on heading up there with the family sometime next weekend, and trying to figure out what might be the best time.

Sweet shots! My hunting friends have been telling me how close they've been getting to the elks, observing them in all different kinds of actions... can't believe they don't have cameras for that!!! Different mentalities I guess...

Nice, expressive images. It's been a hot season for those big bulls!
