Who says photographers can't work together? Four NPN members are proving that, not only can photographers create a website that is better than the sum of its parts, but they can do it across borders, too. Together with Varina and Jay Patel, Darwin Wiggett and I are proud to announce Visual Wilderness, a website that offers nature photographers creative, instructional eBooks on a variety of topics.
To kick off our launch, we are hosting a Photo Contest with a fantastic prize! Darwin has obtained from Gentec International (Sigma Canada) a Sigma 20mm f1.8 EX DG ASP RF lens. The Sigma 20mm is a fast, wide-angle prime designed for full frame and APS-c size sensors. It's a nice piece of glass, so make sure you enter our Photo Contest before the deadline of October 31, 2010 when you visit Visual Wilderness!
Great site with lots of information for us "professional amateurs" ... at least that's what I am. I just posted an image to your contest! Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge; I look forward to visiting your site many, many times more.

Great looking website - for the contest, is it strictly landscape or are animals allowed as well?

Animals are allowed, Luke! Thanks to all of you who've stopped by Visual Wilderness to check it out. We had an overwhelmingly successful first day - with relatively few bugs. What a fantastic response!
Thanks everyone!

Anything "Wild" goes...that includes animals. For our first contest we wanted to keep the theme open to encourage broad participation. Thanks everyone for taking time to visit the website.
Now you all know why I haven't been posting too many photos on the forums...Too busy getting Visual Wilderness up and running. :-)))

Nice site and excellent contest. I'm a big Sigma fan and I'd love to add the 20mm prime to my arsenal. I guess I've got one month to search out and capture an image for that might withstand the tidal wave of talent that this competition will attract. Nice going and congrats!
